Do I need to worry?

After taking Rosy out for a spin today, i noticed on returning home that when i blipped the throttle, i got a small puff of black smoke.

Only seems to do it when she is fully warm and i give her throttle a blip and it definately isn't a lot of smoke, just a little puff.

Was just wondering if this is normal or is it anything to worry about? doesn't seem to do it under hard acceleration or anything like that.

Is there increasing oil-consumption? Mileage? Rebuilds?

Was it REALLY black or just dark? I've seen blue smoke (oil) described as black. More times than not, if a puff of blue smoke is found its when you let up off the throttle and that can be an indicator of valve guides. Should you be worried? No. Should you check into it further? Yes. I would pull the spark plugs and look for oil (wet) or carbon from unburnt fuel (black and sooty).

Yes,

It was properly black and just a little puff when blipping warm engine.

It does no blue at all on let off or any other time. I think, from what i've read it just a little rich, oh well, better rich than lean i suppose.

Thanks chaps.

You do have CIS injection on your car, if it's stock, as all 911SC models had that. Take it to a shop that knows these cars and have it checked. You should not get any smoke out of one when it's warmed up and running properly.
