Harbor Freight Long Frame Jack
Guys,
I just got back from my local China/Pakistan/India Tool Supply Store a.k.a. Harbor Freight and picked up a long frame floor jack that I thought might interest some of you. It's model #42820 and this thing has a working range from about 5 1/2" all the way up to 31 1/2" which I believe is high enough to go directly from the jack to an engine stand! That should be more than enough for any of those engine drop and reinstall requirements! It also has a larger than average jack pad measuring about 6 1/2" across. Best part was it was on sale for $119.00! Downside, well of course it's made in China and it weighs in at a whopping 127lbs! Not exactly something you want to lug around but plenty sturdy. Even came with a complete extra seal kit which I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I guess time will tell. It's a bit bulky but if you have the room it might be worth considering.

I bought one 3 years ago and I have had GREAT luck with mine 10+ engine drops and installs with NO PROBLEM
