Early S Barn, er . . . . "beach" find.

While renting a Mini MOKE at Barth-LOC in St. Barths yesterday, I found this poor soul. Can anyone guess a year or T,E,S status?

I was walking around to the back to look for a badge or something on the grill, but the rental store owner came out and wasn't too excited about my poking around. Love the S spoiler, though.

If anyone's interested in a "minor" amount of rust repair and a huge shipping bill, you could have an early S barn-beach find on your hands. Go Get 'em!

My ride for the day: Power to spare.

Fair amount of rust for such a dry hot climate. Or is it the close vicinity to the salty ocean thats the culprit ?

It's definetly the salt, I go to St. Maarten/Barths every year and you notice especially in the mornings a salty misting on the cars, screw importing the car, I would lean towards purchasing a summer home there and use it as my daily driver P.s. Gogar don't forget to pay a visit to Orient beach

What a waste of a nice early car. Next you're gonna tell us it has sport seats!........Shows what a salt water environment will do.

Those headlights look like H1s.
The telltale sign is the upper 2/3 of the light appear darker.
H4s have one blub and one reflector.
H1s have a separate reflector for the high beams in the lower 1/3 of the light housing.

H1s are worth anywhere from $500 to $1000 plus, if you can find them.

Oh yes its a fair amount of rust. You even see fairly new cars with rust everywhere.

The different colors of red lead me to believe it's been in an accident and sprayed again from the windshield forward. Oh yeah and the s trim begins and ends at the front spoiler.

I agree with johnnyo except i think that if this car ever rolled again, it would soon be in quite a few pieces. Oh yeah, and driving a pcar around a 10 mile circumference island, never finding a gear larger than the number 2 would kill me.

But ah, yes the lights.

I went to St. Barths for my honymoon in 2001 - what a great place, got to even use my many years of french from school which is otherwise totally useless to me. We drove a Smart car around. Now THAT was fun. A go cart w/triptronic shifting on bike path sized roads w/LOTS of curves and hills. And when it rained it was super slick and a little frightening actually. Good times, good times. Ahhhhh the memories. Some day I'll be back - after my 2 kids are grown and paid for!

Gotta love St. Barts. Went there as well for my honeymoon in '95 (as well as a week in St. Martin). I rented a Moke as well but turned it in a day later for a motorcycle. What fun....wonder if this 911 was there (in the same position) when I was there.

Gotta love landing on their airstrip.....yikes.
