Adjusting Koni front shocks

Can I adjust my Koni reds while they are installed in my SC? Or do I have to pull em?

depends on the type...

did you do a search?..... try this one and look at what I say ---> koni shock adj.

quick test..I did a search of terms "Koni" and "adjust" and I found 3 pages of threads !...

You have to undo the top nut (in the trunk) and let the suspension down, dont let it hand on your brake line though. Then compress the shaft until it finds the slot ..... you probably know the proceedure.

You can leave it in the housing but you have to get the top of the strut out from unde the fender. Really not a big deal but takes an hour probably to do both sides.

My front Koni reds adjust with the turn of a knob. Takes about 15 seconds...

Do you adjust them on the top or bottom? Can you take a picture of the top of your strut housing?

...then again mine didnt come with a nob, but I didnt have to compress them. I found info on their website and adjusted them using an hex wrench.

Ahhhh...you're right. :>) And maybe some adjustable sway bars. My car is really pretty primitive in reality.

In my first reply... I suggest that the embedded thread be read.

If we do this, you'll find my statement..." If you have a small "blade" on the very top / center of the big strut shaft..you have an externally adjustable shock that does NOT need to be demounted to adjust. ".

Doesn't anybody respond to answers anymore ??? ....

In the meantime, Porscheguy79 sez , " Thanks EW, that's just what I'm looking for"...( answer that says drop the whole shock and compress/adjust)...

Well alrighty then....you're very welcome !!

- Wil
