Dumb ?- Is there a right and left hub
I know it sounds stupid, but I'm in the middle of a 993 brake conversion and I took off both hubs and put on new rotors. The new calipers are about 2-3 millimeters away from centering on the rotor. Is there any chance they aren't drawing all the way up or seating right on the race if I accidently switched sides. It's either that or the adapters aren't quite right.
I've grabbed the rotors with both hands and I can't find any play at all. Thoughts Jeff |
I recently put my brakes back together after a new pad and resurface rotor install and was missing this piece on the passenger side. It is a small spacer that is on the spindle shaft. Without it, the hub attached and rotated fine but the caliper was off by about 1/8". The previous owner or mechanic must have pulled it off with the hub and not noticed it missing. Not sure how the brakes ever worked as well as they did without it.
