Signal Switch Turn Signal Removal

I took the colum off now i want to get the turn signal unit off the shaft for the steering wheel. It seems stuck on and all these wires are on it, Do i have to cut them or what to get this part of. Please help me pelican.

What year car? You should always include that... or put it in your signature file. I know on my car, the switch IS hardwired in there, so it might actually take cutting to get out.

Newer cars might be different...
