My new 930

Hi everyone, I wanted to show you the 1981 930 I purchased a few days ago. The car is completely stock with the exception of the radio, and has 44,000 original miles. The exterior color is Pacific Blue and the car is equiped with the sport seats, LSD, etc. I previously had a Boxster S that was a fun car to drive, but found myself wanting a classic air cooled 911 more and more. Once I decided to sell the Boxster, I started talking to some of the guys in the local PCA club about purchasing a 911, and one them told me he was thinking about selling his 930 to purchase a new 997. I was pretty familar with the car as the previous owner would bring it to PCA events, and knew it was not abused. Also, with Stephen Kasper's shop (Imagine Auto) being a few minutes away a 930 seemed to make sense. I've got to say one drive in this beast and you're hooked!!! It was kinda strange selling a newer car to purchase an older car that doesn't have the same amenities like AC, but the driving excitement more then makes up for it.

Very nice. Be careful with that Stephen character, he'll make your cash go almost as fast as your car.

What are you spending money on first?

Yea I like the color as well. Unfortunantly, it was overcast the day I took the pics as the blue looks darker then it actually is. As for future upgrades, I'd like to add a CD player, Fabspeed dual outlet muffler, and new AC system. Otherwise, I'd like to keep the car as stock as possible.

Very Nice! Congratulations!!!

That is a good idea for the CD player and the muffler. But for me, personally, I would re-think about the AC repair/upgrade. I don't think the AC is really worth it.

Either way drive it and enjoy it. LIFE IS TOOOOOO SHORT!!!!!

Good luck! You bought the wrong car for that, and besides, why resist the Dark Side. The "basic" bolt on's are so worth it and won't break the bank, the problem is when you get used to 400 rwhp and you start thinking about 500, 600, or more rwhp. Boost and HP are more addictive than crack, women, and cigarettes combined.

Come on, dive into the HP Junkie pool. The water is great.

Texas Turbo is right. But I haven't jumped in to the HP pool with both feet yet. But as everyday goes by it gets more and more tempting. The bottom line is you just can't fight the force! You'll give in....

I was going to keep my 930 stock.

Then, I got used to 282 hp... then I got used to 300 hp... then I got used to 320 hp... then I got used to... um, you get it now...

(Keep it stock "looking" - he he he.)

Very nice. I've never seen carpets with "930" before. Wonder how many people outside this board know what that means? Whereas the "Turbo" script on the backrest of the back seat - well that pretty much says it all.

Upgrades? I'm a fan of the GHL header and muffler myself. And a nice Nak CD palyer would fit well. A/C... just something to slow the car down!

Stephen is down the road and you're going to keep it stock, sure...and I'll bet you've some land in Florida you want to sell me.

I'll start the over/under on headers and a k27 at 1 year. If Steven lets him take one with mods around the block the over/under changes to 1 month.
