oil thermostat location

hi all, i'm organizing the oil line fittings i will need when putting my 73 rsr clone back together. i'm wondering if it is o.k. to mount the thermostat (troutman) for the front oil cooler in the trunk instead of the rear fender well. i'm going to run an-16 lines through the heater ducts into the trunk and then to the cooler. i'm also thinking of placing the electric transmission pump (one of the tilton types) in the trunk with a cooler in the front fender. i'm a little worried about the extra stress on the oil pump pushing oil to the front of the car even when the thermo is closed. however, when the thermo is open in any car with a front cooler the pump would be doing this anyway. any input is appreciated.

I believe it will work OK. The oil pump will never see the delta length of hose. And when the thermos is closed, it will by-pass the same. Let us know how it turns out.
