How to remove aftermarket shift knob?
My car has an aftermarket shift knob and I really don't like it one bit. It does not have the simple cap that can be removed to expose a cap screw as in original knobs. Any ideas on how these things are removed?
Thanks Bob |

brand?
Momo's have 3 little Allen head screws to remove - very easy once you get down in there with a light

Bob,
If the knob is a Momo, it likely has a collar at the base of the knob which unscrews to reveal three hex head screws that secure the knob to the shifter.

Unfortunately I don't know what brand it is, but it is a contoured style like a Momo, with an aluminum collar at the base. So I just unscrew the top portion from the aluminum collar?

Vice versa - uncrew the collar from the knob.
