Gratuitous pic of '72 after flares and paint

The driver's side is finished with the bending and installation of the rocker deco. The end caps were/are tough to get to sit right, but I'm happy with the look. Now on to the passenger side.

Looks Great.

Are those 8s in the rear or 7s all round?

Tell us about the flares. Steel? Fiberglass?

My 72 will need paint before too long and I am thinking about something similar.

Heck, I think it should be REQUIRED to post pics of our cars when we have them painted... or change wheels... or add flares... or... heck, just about anything!

Nice looking longhood!

Looks great!!! Where did you get the RS flares? What seats are those? They look like RS buckets.

Thanks, all. The flares are RS in steel, bought from Pelican. I welded them and did the body work myself and had a pro shoot the color. The wheels are 7s and 8s with 205/50 in front and 225/50 in the rear. Seats are the original sport seats that came with the car.

The fact that you did the body work yourself is very impressive. Welding on steel flares and making it all look right is no easy task.

That makes the car "extra Schweet"

Do you have the pelican part numbers for the flares? I have been looking for them for ages but can only find the 8" ones listed.

Thanks Steve

Good job Mike !
did you do the job to your bumpers too,
for matching perfectly with your flares? or they are new.
I replace presently my fiberglass rear bumper for a steel one,
like the touring RS, it is a nice job to do !
Post more pics of your nice car !
Ray

I got the flares from Pelican several years ago. The numbers are C-503-607-03 GRV and C-503-608-03 GRV, and were listed as RS flares. I suspect they are no longer available, or at least temporarily unavailable. Call them to be sure, though. Stoddard once had them, too, but they list them as "out of stock" now. I think both places got them from Restoration Design (search the threads on this one), though I may be wrong.

Raynald, check out this link, I have a couple of shots of the bumpers as I was working on them. I just love the RS Touring look, with the chrome/rubber bumperettes and the trim pieces, and the rocker deco, so I'm finally getting a look at my car just the way I pictured it.
73 RS Bumper ends extensions?

That's one awesome long hood!
Finally, the weather is getting nice around here for us to unleash our P-cars.

Oh yeah, looks great

Amen on the flares. I had a shop who was supposedly "professional" do a set on a 75 euro carrera basket case. They missed, one side was nearly one inch higher than the other side, only to be discovered AFTER paint!
