Where the %&*! is the DME in my 996 cab?

Hey all!

I'm trying to locate and remove the DME unit on my 2000 996 carerra cab. I'm sending it off to GIAC finishing school (performance chip upgrade). The guy at the chip shop tells me it's behind the passenger side roll bar apparatus and you have get at it through (or under) the convertible top. I removed four plastic tabs securing a faux carpet in place but can't figure out how to get the carpet up to get to the DME unit.

Also any thoughts on chipping a 996? The car is no longer under warranty so voiding it is no longer a concern.
