You could be right. It's hard to tell without a seat (or wheel, or pedal cluster, etc). I hope it's ok. We'll see.

On my prior race car we had a similar bar and after a crash it got removed (my knees bumped it pretty bad). The one I currently have actually replaces the bottom edge of the dash.

Let us know how you make out with this after the seat is installed.

Small update:

Made a rotisserie to make things easier. I can't quite swing it completely vertical, but it's close enough and will allow me to remove the remainder of the undercoating and apply new Wurth SKS and paint the underside/wheel wells.
