Help ID oil leak
I finally am getting around to fixing the various oil leaks since my rebuild almost a year ago.
The biggest leak I find is on top of the engine. I find that the oil breather hose clamp is loose (red circle). From the picture attached, do you think the oil pressure sender (blue circle) (it's a 92 964 C2) could have leaked also? I replaced the oil sender o-ring during the rebuild, but I am seeing a film of oil in the area around the oil breather and pressure sender area. I am wondering should I replace the sender o-ring seal again. If I should replace it, what can I do to prevent further leak? Sealant? Silicone? What are your thought? ![]() thanks, anthony |

I just replaced an oil pressure sender unit that was leaking right at the point where the wire comes out of the top. It solved a major leak. Now I only 10 more minor leaks to go!

Since no one replied, I replaced the hose clamp on the breather tube, cleanup the oil, and put everything back together. Don't want to mess with the sender until I run the car for a while to see if the breather tube was the only cause to all the oil.

REPLACE IT!! Its so cheap, I think it is best to take care of it while you can. I replaced my themostat o ring, oil pressure sender, breather gasket, and breather hose also because it can become crystalized and very brittle. I didnt do a full engine drop, I just pulled my fuel injection, throttle etc.. to access it.
Good Luck |

I did replace the o-ring less than a year ago when I did my rebuild.
I also tightened various oil hoses clamps as they were also leaking/sweating. |
