Now (reaching for wallet again) for the tires.

hey I'm sorry for repeating what is likely a common question, but does anyone know if there is a way for someone like Al to strip the crappy chrome from my wheels so they can be refinished like these....

PO chromed them dang....

Beautiful wheels Dave. There is no doubt Al Reed works some type of voodoo magic to get them that nice. Brant, I recently saw a set of fuchs on ebay that had the chrome stipped and they were re-finished stock. So it can be done..

good to know Tim!

Dave, does all do quotes over the phone.
do you have his phone number?
I'd like to call him and see if he would touch my chromed rims or not

Brant,
Al does do quotes over the phone, if you give him an accurate description of your wheels, and what you want done. Both sets he's done for me have cost exactly what he quoted.

His # is: 714-632-3907. You'll probably have to leave a message, but he's good at getting back to you.

According to Porsche, Fuchs wheels should not be chromed. That having been said, Al can strip the chrome off the wheels. The more important question is what will the alloy look like once the chrome is gone. Often the wheels will get pitted. Al can polish out some of the problems, but there's no guarantee he can get them to look perfect.

Al's a great guy. Give him a call and discuss your wheels with him. He'll give the the "straight poop" on whether he thinks he can do anything with them once the chrome is gone.

Did he tell you how to take care of them? Like using wheel wax or someother protectant to keep them looking that way for a while? Just curious.

BTW: Nice lookin' wheels!!!!

I believe that "satin" is OEM. Just another name for it. The factory anodize. Mine are factory anodize/satin/oem. I should have asked the question differently of Dave.....I meant are his OEM anodize, also known as "satin" ? Thanks Dave. Post a pic or three of your car when you get the new wheels on it.

Bill, I was going to ask, but forgot to, when I gave him my CC info. I'm going to call again and ask.

And thanks!
