Engine pad material?

I'm missing the sound-deadening pad from the top of the engine compartment. What is this material? It looks like something that could be inexpensively fabricated. I have a foil-faced windshield shade-screen that looks similar to the material used in the 'upgraded' engine pad sold as a replacement part - is this the right stuff? Has anyone fabricated one of these for their car?

Thanks, Joe

A search will show you that a lot of people have fabricated their own out of the reflective materials. I recently replaced mine with oem sound pad. It is nothing more than dense foam witch fits neatly in the engine bay. The oem foam deadens sound much greater than the reflective stuff I would think.

I did the OEM replacement since I think the silver pad looks like a wrapped burrito, at any rate it was cheap. I think I would have spent more time and money fabricating my own.
