Is it better to use wheel adapter than using spacer with longer studs?
I want to know which is better to use to widen wheel track? Which is acceptable for DE events?
Thanks, John |
It is better to use longer studs and a spacer. Some clubs will not accept adapters for DE events.

John,
Other than some clubs not allowing adaptors, it is more tedious to check the torque values with adaptors since you have to remove wheels to check the inner nuts. I'd go with longer studs and spacers if doing track events. Edward |
I will chime on 3rd. Not only are there the above issues but the physical strength of the adaptor now becomes an issue.

All true enough.....
but look how a front hub is "attached"....same principle as an "adaptor" with an offset series of 5 bolts holding it on.... Still...I'm in agreement here and would prefer longer bolts with a "spacer". Wil |
