Question Does my car have Power Mirrors?

Just out of curiosity, I went out in the garage and took the mirror "glass" off the door mirror to see what's behind there. I found a metal plate and something that wrapped under a cloth boot behind the plate. My car is a 1976 and has been heavily converted to a 1980's look. I saw that there is no wiring for power mirrors in my door, but there is a hole in my door panel for the power mirror joystick.
Here's a photo:

An extensive part # search from the part numbers on the mirror glass and the metal plate indicate the mirrors are powered. Now it looks like I need to find out where the P.O. probably cut the wires, which means a wiring project is coming up next!
Any tips/advice on working with the power mirrors? Will I need a wiring harness or will there just be a ground and a hot wire only?

You'll need multiple wires, since there are two axes and two directions per axis. In addition, there's a rocker switch that selects the right or left mirror. Pelican sells the parts, and I think that the 1982 SC wiring diagram that's posted should include the mirrors and switches.

I think I'd be looking for a dismantler yard for the door wiring loom, and the switches. It could simplify the whole deal.

Toby, I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the car, There's just no way I think I can sell it! Plus, I found a way I can bypass emissions without having to do $7K worth or work (shhh).
I'll be heading over to Parts Heaven tomorrow anyway, so I'll see if they have the harness needed for the mirrors. Thanks for the help.

Are their motors in the mirrors? If not you may need new housing.....er, I mean mirrors. Maybe a good time to "upgrade" to Manual Aero mirrors.

The motor will look similar to the circled part. It's behind the pivoting plate.

I'm pretty sure because both the metal mirror mounting plate and the mirror itself have part numbers for power mirrors. Also, behind the plate there seems to be something covered in a rubber boot, which I assume is the motor.

Matt, can you take a pic to show us? You'll need to disassemble anyway.

Harnesses can vary quite a bit. Best if you have the option of matching up to what you have.

I unbolted the mirror from the frame, and it turns out I do have power mirrors!:

The other side is probably the same as well. I really want to connect these power mirrors, so how hard does this project look like it will be?

If you're able to secure all the required wiring from each door you should have a relatively easy time of it....especially if they have the matched set (yearwise).

Looks as if the glass is not heated. You can tell by the presence of connector nipples on the rear of the glass.

I took my mirrors all apart once to fix 'em -- only to discover that it was the switch! Anyway, if the motors are working, it shouldn't be too hard. If they're not, now's the time to find out. If you look at this wiring diagram, you'll see how everything's connected.
