Torsion bars, VW/Porsche
Are VW and Porsche torsion bars interchangeable? If they are the same diameter and length? Are the splines the same?

Only early Type III VW rear bars are interchangeable with '65 thru '86 911 rear bars ... but they are smaller in diameter, so you gain nothing but a softer ride option!

The reason I ask the question is that a friend of mine has a pair of 28 MM rear bars that he doesn't need anymore. they are the proper length, 24 11/16 I wasn't sure if the splines were the same or not.
