Good luck with Autozone ball joint tool
This one worked great for me when used with a little penetrating oil. It was their 66.5mm one manufactured by OEM tools. It was $20.

Part number is 25965. It is not a Porsche OEM tool - it is a tool made by a company called "OEM." They are available in Autozone and online elsewhere. Fits the 911 castle nut perfect.

Can you show a pic of the tool? Is it a socket type?

Sure, I'll take a picture tomorrow after work. It is a socket type and accepts a 1/2" breaker bar or ratchet.
One more thing, using the jack to keep the socket and the nut mated is very important. The photo shows the a-arm compressed upward considerably. You need to be careful that you have the jack just right under the socket so that when you turn, it doesn't slip out of the nut. Use caution - if it seems like it isn't supported properly at first, lower the jack and reposition the tool. Penetrating oil is a must to simplfy the job. I typically use Kroil. I wonder if this is part of Autzone's loan-a-tool program. Can't hurt to ask.

Any special tool they sell is generally available as a loaner. Would be surprised if this one wasn't. Great info!
