Another Poor Man Solution - Dead Pedal, No Drilling

A single piece of 16ga steel, folded on the edge so it wouldn't grab the carpet, and shaped across the bottom of the floorboard. Welded a support piece behind the fold. Fits tight as a drum. Plan to powder coat it and put some grip tape on it.

I thought you might, ianc. I'm totally with you on the drilling thing.

Glad I could brighten your day, Jon.

ZONAS,
Are those bolts attached to pre-existing points in the floorboard or did you drill those out.
Are you going to start selling these by chance? I want a dead pedal, don't want to drill, and don't want to burn my garage down.

now let's make it look like a proper P race part and drill a couple hundred lightening holes in the dead pedal fixture.

drilling holes in your tub is like hitting your wife, it's hardest the 1st time, then it get easier.

I drilled the holes into the wood.

No, I don't think I'll sell them, the labor was worth ten times the cost of materials. I just had a piece of 16 gauge steel lying around, and thought I'd start banging on it with a bodywork hammer and then see if I could fit it in the dead pedal spot. The most time consuming part was the one long cut that left the "tail" strap that lays across the floor board. The reinforcement piece that sits behind the pedal is just a short piece of square tube that I tack welded in place.

That's where I'm at now. I'm probably going to powder coat it, but the holes seem like the right thing to do.

I'm not certain, but I think that's part of the reason k911sc is still "searching".

Personally, I like hitting my tub and drilling my wife.
