early seats
Having trouble finding out what seats I have bought, they are early recaro seats, I thought from a 74 911, but having ordered seat covers, they don't fit
. Covers are for seats w/ 7in side bolsters and mine have 8in bolsters. Bases are different too, as these seats have simular release mechanism to my current standard 1967 seats.. any thoughts advice?

Do a search for sport seats on this board. There are some threads that have photos of the different vinateg Sport Seats. Based on my limited knowledge of factory Sport Seats, your seats look like what you describe. I have a pair of manual Sport seats that are supposed to be from 1979 and they look similar to yours except they have the dial adjustment on the side instead of the lever like yours appear to have. I really do think your seats are 1974-1977 vintage. Good luck. Mike |

Those look exactly like my 75 sport seats. re-upholstery is very spendy at close to $1000 each. My seats have the usual drivers side wear and tear but reasonably good leather. I'm going with black custom/taylored sheepskins for about $450 installed...
