I've been working to save as much space as possible for luggage in the front of my 911. I have a hydrolic jack I've been carring in the truck (hate the stock crank jack). I found by removing the jack wheels and my spare I could get the hydrolic jack in the lower extreme front (on the stock brackets)and still bolt the inflatable spare back in place.
Just wanted to share this with others looking to save space in the fron end and carry a better jack on board. With the spare bolted in the jack is very tight and doesn't rattle at all. The cap in the spare is just for fluff :-)

Great idea -- thanks! Looks like I'm going to have 4 spare jack wheels if anyone needs them ;-)

On this BBS where it is not uncommmon to see folks remove the A/C and sound deadening...I am amazed that so many would be willing to add that much weight.

Exactly. Get a jack from a Boxster or 944 - it won't kill you like the stock 911 ones, and doesn't weigh any extra.

How about an aluminum jack ? Doesn't any body make a light weight floor jack ? If so, paint it the same color of the car . It's a hell of an idea though

It looks like a good idea otherwise (unless the hydraulic fluid leaks out at that angle). heck...I want to add A/C to my non-A/C car too. I guess it depends on how often you need to use it.....The factory one works fine for me.....of course I don't know jack....
