My barn find!!!

Sorry, with all the hype I couldn't resist. It's a barn find of sort though. I went out to the barn where I store my car for winter and brought it home. I know not funny! Anyways, it started and ran great and now I wont sleep tonight thinking of the possibilities. I spent an hour or so washing the winter storage crap of it so I wanted to take some fresh pics with the newly acquired digital camera. For those with a keen eye...disregard the different colored front turn signal trim, I am doing a test to see which I like best. Euro H4s are on the way as is a new exhaust tip and euro style tail light lenses. The heat exchangers and muffler will be dealt with accordingly. I am working on the ride height (Reg, if your reading) and have considered lower...at least up front. Let me know what you think. Enjoy the pics!

Nice car! I bet she's glad to be out of that dark, cold barn and in the sunshine!

Beautiful.
Something about an early 911 in white.
It just works for me

I had one of those (for 19 years).
Converted her into a RS clone many years ago.

I am curious as to what muffler on her.
It has a very unusual downwards faacing outlet.
Does she have the usual "S" options (guages, sway bars, alloy brakes)?

Thanks. The muffler is odd. It has what appears to be an exhaust tip on backwards. The flared end is at the muffler. As for the angle of the pipe, I'm not sure. It could be someone changed it. My plan is to take it all off this summer and have a good look at what is going on back there. If everything is normal I will have it media blasted and re-coated before returning it to service. Did I mention that I have only had the car since the end of June last year. Thats the reason for the unknown exhaust status. So much to do in such little time. Last summer was spent getting used to starting the car with carbs and just driving the hell out of it.

Yeah, even today it was hard to resist the temptation to go like mad. Apperently my four year old, riding with my wife in the Dodge truck today, said "You better go fast Mommy, because Daddy has the fastest car around...it's a Porsche". Brings a tear to my eye (or is that the carbs a little rich?).

Really looks good, but it seems to me the front could come down just a hair. Beautiful car!

Sweet ride! I like white too, I've had my white 72E for 19 years now and don't plan on getting rid of her. Good inspiration for me to get mine back onthe road soon.

Thanks

Hey Mike, looks great! Sorry I forgot to drop the shocks off yesterday - I was going right by your place, and completely forgot until I saw the exit sign.

A word of caution - you might not want to fix what ain't broke, and by that I mean your muffler. I've been having nightmares with incessant backfiring because of an exhaust leak after I pulled mine off. I've replaced the gaskets twice, dremeled the flanges flat, gone through countless tubes of JB weld, nothing's worked. I've finally wrapped the s@#t out of it with some high-temp muffler tape, so we'll see if that works...
