Huh?

move your seat all the way back and get your shoulders on the floor, looking up at the switch from behind the dash. The wiring harness pulls !!!Gently!!! back from it.

Not sure what you're doing in the steering wheel....

You mean the electrical portion, or the lock itself?

The electrical part screws on the back of the lock cylinder. Some claim to have swapped the electrical part without removing the lock, but I couldn't do it.

To remove the lock assembly, you need to drill out the 2 headless screws under the cover around the key. Be very gentle, there are some electrical connections in there.

Oh what a pain, I can almost reach the top most screw on the elec. mod.
I am going to Sears now to see if I can find a flexable screwdriver.

Replacement Screws

Pablo,

It would take a lot of patience and dexterity to remove the 2 screws that hold the ignition switch. The space is so tight and after successfully removing the 2 screws, I would recommend that you replace them with allen type head scews.

Installation will be a lot easier. Good luck.

Tony
