Can the 912 E solid front rotors be changed to vented with out replacing the entire strut? is it as simple as new bearings and vented discs?
TIA, Mike D.

I think it's just calipers and discs. The discs are wider, hence the caliper change. You'll use the same hubs I think. They should be the same hubs as a 911.

also depends on what calipers you want. The bolt hole spacing on the strut needs to be measured to make sure you find matching 911 calipers for either the 3" or 3 1/5" (whatever strut you have). Then the caliper and rotor need to match. Should not be too hard as long as you don't mix and mis-match.

You need to measure the caliper spacing first as mentioned.
3.5 inches and you can use SC and Carrera calipers and rotors. If it 3 inch you need to swap out the struts.

Thanks, I have 944 turbo calipers, black brembo ones. and I found these struts at a swap. They will bolt up but of course I will get new rotors and bearings...
Until recently, I did not know that the 912E had solid front rotors. learn something Porsche every day ![]() -Mike D.

They used stuff from the parts bin....the engine was a left 914 2.0 but used "L" Jet fuel injection instead of the D Jet.....915 trans with a special shaft for the Type IV motor....early front end from the pre SC 911s and 914/6s......a real orphan.
