I saw that on the ALMS board...
I think it's the best thing to revive sportcar racing in the USA. Hopefully (but doubtful), Nascar's "Car of Tomorrow" spec-series will alienate there legion of fans.

I suspect that Porsche engineering will crush the existing Lola and Courage chasis tech. Weren't there already competitors on those chasis when Porsche came in at the end of last season and mopped up?

It was fun to see the Porsche 2nd on the grid between the two R8s last year at Laguna Seca. Sebring was unusually harsh on them so we'll see what happens in May!

I would not under estimate the potential from Honda but look forward to the competition. Maybe one or two or ? more companies will step up and the field size will increase and so will the fan base. I think the TV coverage is pretty solid, rules package is fairly stable just need to keep growing. I personally would like to see the ALMS either add a few more tracks or shorten the time between races, it seems like there are long gaps of no racing.

I agree that the gaps are too long and that they need more tracks. It's the only way to keep up with the juggernaut called "Nascar". It's so sad that when people that I talk to find out I'm into racing, they automatically think Nascar.
