CIS to Motronic
Has anyone converted their CIS to Motronic? How hard is it or is it even possible? What kind of benefits or disadvantages could be expected?
Thanks, |

motronic is a much more accurate system. better power and fuel economy. the parts are supposely very reliable. however, mine just died on me, ended up costing me over $1k for a rebuilt one.

I did, sort of.....
I dumped the CIS 2.4 out of the car, and installed a Motronic 3.2. Does that count? |

Seems like a lot of work for little gain. Figure you'd need all of the intake and fuel stuff, the wiring and brain and then you'd have a motronic SC. Big whoop, doubt it will be faster in any measurable way. Learn CIS maintenance or sell it and buy a Carerra..better return on your money.

So nobody has motronic on their 3.0?
I've heard talk of converting the to 3.2 injection I've just never seen it done and cant find any info about it. I know a lot of people are using the mega squirt systems but i don't like the idea of a home made ECU. It seems like the hardest part of converting to motronic would be the flywheel sensors and the cylinder head temp sensor. Does anyone know anything about this? |
