rear wheels spin when in neutral

This is probably a stupid question, but I started my car while on jackstands and the rear wheels spin very slowly when the transmission is in neutral. Normal?

Yep, perfectly normal. This is basically bearing drag that tends to rotate the gearbox. One can stop the rotation by hand, if so desired.

Actually (and I known RC is a mechanic of distinction), the momentum can hurt you. Don't try to stop the tire even thought it is free-wheeling. Use one or the other brake. Better yet, set the e-brake while running the engine on stands (if you must do that at all).
