Your Help Would Be Appreciated! 87' 911 Stalls And Dies

Hello everybody I am a newbie on this board so please bear with me. I have an 87' 911 and lately the car has been acting up. I would want to note that this problem has never occured to me before until the recent weeks. The engine seems to be stalling very terribly at idle but when I keep the foot on the gas pedal or when I am driving for example, the problem seems to disappear. Sometimes when the engine is idling at the stop light it tends to stall and die completely. I have checked the following and they seem to be in working order:

1. replaced Idle Control Valve
2. Checked Mass Air Flow Sensor and seems to be in working order
3. checked microswitch at throttle body and is working
4. checked fuel pump and working
5. check vacuum lines OK
6. check wire harnesses for loose connection OK

HERE IS THE CATCH, when I DISCONNECT the microswitch at the throttle body the stalling problem completely disappears. There is a slight increase in rpm after disconnecting the switch. I heard the switch is for the rpm transducer. I thought my model year no longer uses an rpm transducer??

Your valuable help and input would be much appreciated! I am hoping I could solve this problem before I have to bring it to a mechanic... After 1 and 1/2 weeks of not being able to drive my beloved porsche is beginning to make my hands tremble! LOL

Is this a stock MAF or aftermarket? Mine has an Autothority MAF hot wire and did something similar years ago. Turned out to be the potentiameter which now it turns out is a questionable technique according to Steve Wong who I now need to talk to.

There are 2 microswitches on the throttle body, Idle and WOT (wide open throttle).

Does this occur when the engine is cold or after it has warmed up. If after it has warmed up then maybe bad O2? Also check sparkplug wires. When was the last time they were changed? Any cracked?

Do you have a MAF or the Air Flow Meter (barn door)?

Pictures are in order!!!

Thanks for your posts. I believe my car has the stock MAF unit. I included a few pics of the unit in this post.

I havent checked the O2 sensor is there a way to test it and where is it located on my car? What is the likeliness that it could be a bad O2 sensor and how often should it be replaced? As I said, the problem with stalling disappears when the microswitch is DISCONNECTED. HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE??

Thanks for reading.
