996 center console
Just bought a 99. PO had replaced tape player with nice Sony CD. Dash has this box with 4 cassette holders. It rattles, so I pulled it out. Does anyone make something nice to use there? Sure would like another slot for phone, wallet, etc.

You can get another stock "cubby" to slide in there (like the one below it). If a dealership doesn't have it, eBay will.

You'll find parts like that at Sunset Imports - good prices and service (assuming of course you can't find them at Pelican first...).
I was going to send you a link to the 996 PET from Sunset, but their web site is not delivering. For example, in my 993 there is a tray that replaces the Cassette or CD holder on the console. It's not a typical US Part (it's for the RS), but only a few bucks from Sunset.

Howard,
There are a couple of factory shelves shown in PET: Number 10 below, 996.552.253.01 and number 14, 996.552.243.01. Also a CD holder to replace the cassette holder you removed, number 13 below, 996.552.981.00. ![]() ![]() ![]() Tim Last edited by tchanson; 04-14-2006 at 07:12 AM.. |

I had the CD holder...it only holds 4 CDs. Kind of a waste. I'd stick with the other cubby.

Take a look at 9X Auto. Scroll about halfway down the page until you get to the radios, CD, accessories, etc. link. Click that, and scroll down almost all the way to the bottom. They have a slick little 4-CD holder for less than $70.
