Who can paint my 69 Coupe?
I am going to be looking into getting my 69 repainted. I am willing to spend the money but i want it "right" . I want the paint to be AS it would have been in 69. I want to be blown off my ass when I see it. I want to imagine that I have stepped back in time and I'm in the showroom. I want to step up to my car, then ask for a hankie when my eyes well up with joy.
ANybody do work like that within the metro Orlando area? Michael

Paint in 69 compared to 06 is nite and day. Youll need a pair of sunglasses if its color sanded right. well depending on the color. Without bodywork youll probably pay 4-6 thousand paint is major dollars these days compared to the stuff they had in 69. What color are you planning on?

Bahama yellow, of course! Stock on my gorgeous T. Its got this great "summer of love" california glow to it. Guards red and metallic silver would be runner ups , but I want it to be right.

I expected about 5K , 6K for a well known shop. I need a shop who will do as I ask, and submit top notch work only, instead of excuses? Does that even exist anymore?

I'm very curious about this one too. So after you get it done please post your pictures and experiences.
I'd thought that if the time came I would check this guy out. I bet you are looking at big, big bucks though. www.richardsonscustomrestorations.com Actually, and I hope I'm wrong about this but it wouldn't surprise me that based on your criteria $10K-15K might be closer. I know of a very respected shop which happens to be in my area (Rockledge) that a personal friend of mine took his '66 Mustang into for a quote and he was told $30K..and it would be about a year or so before they could get him in. This guy supposedly does phenomenal work on classic cars so I know that the expertise is still out there.

for whatever its worth, another pcar owner here in Phoenix told me about several shops right across the border near Tucson AZ, offering concours paint work for under $2500. This inluded leather, bodywork, paint, prep work, etc. I guess labor is cheap down there
