Zenith 40 TIN ...Help !

One of my zeniths is flooding and fuel is going straight through to the engine causing the engine to cut off . The other zenith is working fine.

Is it time for a rebuild ? Stuck float ?

Does the zenith a teardown and cleaning ?

The best steps to take to resolve this flooding?.

Thanks

Anything else changed, maybe a new fuel pump etc. A little more info would be nice. If all was good then this just started happening, I would suspect something in the fuel that has now made it's way into the needle and seat assembly preventing the fuel from being cut off.

Zenith 40 tin

Thanks for the reply. The enigine has just been fitted (2.4T) and the zeniths were with the engine complete. The car will run for about a minute then die out when one of the zeniths is flooding fuel out from the top.

I'm not sure with part of the Zenith is causing this problem.

Sounds like crud in the needle and seat area maybe from your fuel lines. You will need to take the air filter assembly off so you are doun to just the carb itself. From there you will see 2 14mm (I think) nuts on top of the carbs. Unscrew these and inside will be the needle valve assembly. unscrew them and check for dirt.
