Does this Flywheel need to be resurfaced?

Here is a picture of my flywheel. It is very smooth and reflective. Not groves at all but has green and brown color striations though out the surface. Does it need to be resurfaced or can it just be cleaned. Thanks.

Sorry (again) Wrong picture. How's this one? Ignore the date in the photo. I dropped the motor on Sat and took the picture today.

Mike,

The heat-checking on the flywheel indicates the need to be cleaned up [machined] a minimal amount ...

obviously you could put it back together without getting it machined. Will it work as well, probibly not. If you are using the same disc and presure plate it should be fine. But if you are changing stuff disc etc. It will work better with newly machined surfaces.

i am in the middle of this exact gig. take it in. there is enough hell dropping motor, yanking this and that. dont cheap out and make the job last. not cheap sending these things in. the porsche tax is alot higher than the chevy tax.

That flywheel absolutely should be resurfaced. Any hint of blue means you gotta do it.
