Exhaust install - Am I missing something?
 

I removed the manta exhaust that the PO installed, as it rotted out. I am in the process of installing a new M&K 2 in 2 out.

Am I missing a piece on the engine? Where Do I secure the clamps to? As of now, the muffler is supported only my the SSIs. I know this can not be correct:

You're missing a bracket. Here is a picture of mine - different engine I assume, but the bracket should be the same.

The bracket most likely won't fit that well anyway with a non OE muffler. Get some heavy guage aluminum and make the bracket that fits your exhaust.

Is there an official name for this bracket?

Does it just bolt up using the two existing studs through the timing/crank cover?

Our host sells them... Do a search on "muffler bracket". I just put a new one on during the sleep my car just came through...

During my engine rebuild, I bought a used engine mount for the rear mount bar as mine was cracked. It came with a muffler bracket I didn't need. It's yours for the price of shipping - if you want it PM me.
