Main Fuel Line Replacement.....
Gasoline is flooding the tunnel in my '78SC due to a leaking fuel line. Could someone please give me some advise/tip in tackling this job? Do I need to remove the transmission bracket for this job? Thanks in advance.

I have a 72 and had to replace mine because I ran a tap through the seat mounting hole threads on the tunnel. I put a pin hole in the hard fuel line with the tap. To remove and replace my hard fuel line I had to move the gas tank up and out of the way and also loosend my front crossmember bolts to allow it to drop enough to get a straight shot. I didnt have to loosen my transmission bracket (I assume you mean crossmember). It was a pain to get the fuel hose on at the rear, I imagine that dropping the transmission would allow for better/easier access.

You'll probably have to remove the rear sway bar and maybe the tranny bracket. You also may have to loosen or remove the two bolts holding the steering rack. It's a PITA but it's doable, I've done it on a 78SC and my 79 930.
I'd replace both lines while you're there.

I just replaced my fuel lines. I removed the transmission mount in order to get to the fuel lines in the back, also the sway bar. I connected a nylon string while pulling the fuel lines out from the front (cut line off the fitting at the rear). I carried all the fittings to a local hose shop and had new lines made with the old fittings ($35.00). I then tied an electrical wire to the sting and pulled it in through the tunnel. Then wrapped duct tape around the hose and wire, used some pipe soap and pulled the new lines in place one by one. This was a difficult task but the are in now. Good luck
