I am temporarily transplanting an '83 SC engine into a '78 SC.
I would like to this as a plug and play, not changing anything on the '78. What do I need to remove from the original '78 engine to make the '83 work. I DO NOT want to use the lambda sensor and brain. Any suggestions? Thanx, Pete

Pete,
Why not put your 78 induction onto the 83 engine. Just use the 83 long block...then it's plug and play. |

Isn't there an alternator/voltage regulator issue?

You can swap the old alternator (with external regulator) with the later (internal regulator) alternator. Or just convert the wiring (one or two wires...that's it) to the later onboard voltage regulator scheme. Easy to do and just about everyone has done it to their car by now. I've got a tech article on my web page somewhere to help with the conversion.

Will the larger 78 runners work with the later heads with the smaller ports?
