Porsche 911SC office chair
I've had no luck selling a pair of slightly worn SC seats. Then a bracket broke on my office chair. Hmmmm.... an hour later:

That looks good Lee. I may have to make my Carrera seats into something like that.

Lee,
Very cool dood! I hope you have a high speed connection to compliment the whole picture. A seat belt is probably a good idea too. That seat will have you thinking about you car even more now. The belt may help you keep your butt on the job! LOL... I like it!

I did that with a Mercedes seat and my kid used it throughout college. His buddies loved it. I saw an ad in the back of Car & Driver....Recaro office chairs go for a grand!!!!!

The Porsche seat is thicker (ie taller) than most office chairs. If you mount the base to the bottom of the seat then it sits too high - even in the lowest position. I used two pieces of steel going across and mounted them directly to the factory holes. The base plate that would mount to the bottom of the office chair is mounted on top of the bars, up inside the seat base. Spacers result on a lower position. There's no tilt for the base, so I used different sized spacers to get the angle I wanted.

"Spacers result on a lower position."
So is this considered euro height specs?

Excellent idea! I'll keep that in mind when my seats are kaput!

"Is there a bump steer kit available?"
I've heard rumors that this will be Tyson first and most pressing project once he is settled in a Wevo.

I have been planning to do that to a spare seat I have. How stable is it when you recline the seat back? Does the chair fall backwards?

It goes pretty far back while still feeling stable. I can recline it to the seat's limit and not fall back, but at that point it's tipsy.
You can adjust the CG with the mounting point. The base on mine is just aft of center. I used some holes that were already in the steel. I'm sure if I moved the base a few inches aft it would be stable in full recline.
