Mystery Sterling with Porsche engine !

Just bought a 1970 Sterling which has a 911S 2.2 ltr engine reverse installed - transmission facing towards the rear, engine is behind seats. Big question: Does the transmission needs to have been modified to reverse direction - or not ? Transmission has locking differential thanks, harold

depends if the trans is a 914 trans or not. to reverse direction, usually the ring gear is flipped. my neighbor had one with a 911 motor in it when I was a wee one...fast as crap, that silly little car....his was close to that same color red, and was wrecked up in illinois somewhere. license tag JAXXTOY amazing I can remember that, but not what I had for lunch yesterday. sjd
