Testing Rear Defroster Is there a way to test the rear defroster wires on the rear glass w/o having fog for them to clear up? My glass was removed and reinstalled and I want to make sure they connected it back up correctly - for some reason they tore apart the whole right rear electrical installation... I'm wondering if having the light in switch knob come on is an adequate test of the whole glass and its circuit? since there is a relay in ther, my guess is that it is not. Thanks! |

Turn it on then go breathe on the glass to mist it up a bit. |

turn it on and watch it for a while with a pyrometer? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1145474353.jpg |

Another real cheap/free/lazy way is to turn the interior light on and then turn HRW on and off and watch the interior lamp. If it dims a bit when you turn on then chances are it's working, as a working HRW will put quite a load on the electrics. Don't know if it applies to P-cars but some manufacturers wire them up to only work with the engine running for this very reason. |
