Got the pump working, but . . .
I 'jumped' the #30 plug and 12 volts to get fuel pump to work again (see thread below). However, now it won't start. This all started after a long road trip to SoCal. Car ran fine until the last few miles when it started to feel like a fuel injector was plugged. Now, I can't get it started to let the fuel injector cleaner do its thing. My P-car guy is 30 miles away, so it's a lot easier to drive the car into the mechanic than tow it (not to mention a lot cheaper). It still sounds like an injector is plugged based on previous (before it wouldn't start) very short term operating. Any ideas on why it won't start based on this info?

I suggest you pump a quart or more of gasoline with the pump into a clear glass container and examine carefully for rust and othe particulate contamination. Your fuel distributor may be clogged up ... rather than just some injectors!

If the fuel system is clogged, can I clean it myself at home? And what does that involve? Any specific procedure? Tools? Basically, I have 3 metric wrenches and an air compressor (well maybe a few more, but not much)

Time out!
Well, now the pump stoped working again (even with the jump), so I'm putting her on the trailer. Beyond my expertice. Thanks for the help guys, I'll let the board know when the P-guy figures it out.

AAA Plusis about $88 and gives a 100 miles free towing. And they use a flatbed.
