danskman? - Any Canadian Dansk distributors?
Just curious if there are any Canadian distributors.
In case any one is concerned about my support for Pelican....I've ordered tons of parts from Pelican...I just want to avoid the delay and shipping costs. Also, I'm having trouble receiving goods from the states. The transfer from US Post to Canada Post does not work well

I'll third that. Best to have a US address and bring it across yourself! The duty is very slight compaired to the "brokerage fees" charged by UPS ect...

I did it twice this month, only have to pay the GST and any provincial. (none here). I put the nearest US UPS staffed customer pickup location as my credit card's secondary address.
USPS-Canada Post though has been the most reliable for me, not hassle, always here in a week. Fedex and UPS cross border has been a heroic hassle in general. When I can't make the road trip, definately sticking with USPS-Canada Post. 8 dollar handling fee and then the GST.

'll second the vote for USPS and Can Post. No problems and much cheaper. No bull**** brokerage and duties charges. $200 US item = $80 CAN fees.

UPS will bend you over the counter and make you drop your pants.
Plus I have another rant with them. The funny thing is I could cost them thousands every day if I wanted to, but I just can't make myself do it!! ![]() USPS/CP has taken a long time on some of my parts, like the WEVO side cover I am waiting for right now!!! OH and my Brembo GTP's that they had for 4 weeks! Other stuff has come right through quickly and no problem. The trick with USPS is to send your stuff "expidtited or priority". That way they hand off to a courior (purolator here) at the border, charge you a whopping $5 for brokerage and bring it to your door. The only stuff I ship UPS I send to my Blaine mailbox and go pick it up myself. Cheers

Thanks, guys for the heads-up on the probelem of getting our products to you in Canada. Eh.
Over the years, I have done a lot of research on the Canadian automotive market for spare parts (I also deal with other products besides Dansk). Generally speaking, the Canadian market is about 10% of the US market in demand for both vehicles and spare parts. When you consider the comparitively small market for Porsche parts, and then equate 10% of that, it makes for a stretch to get the goods up there directly. I would venture a guess that due to climate, the Porsche market in Canada is even less than 10% of the US. We have excellent distributors like Pelican Parts that service the US and Canadian markets very well. The delays are not in their control. I'll do some investigation as to what can be done to help you guys out. I'd rather not take the business away from the existing US distributors, because they do a great job. It's just a matter of addressing the issues of getting the goods across the border to you in a timely and cost-effective manner. I'll keep you posted.Thanks.
