Looking for a '73 radio delete plate
Howdy-
I have a '73.5 T and it has an aftermarket radio in it. I would like to return it to stock form and it looks like they cut holes in the original radio delete plate for the radio. Did the T automatically have a radio in it from the dealer? When I look at the original receipt it shows extra money for a retractable antenna, but no radio. The picture shows the exact dash color that I have. The picture is not my car. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. - Jamie ![]() |

I believe radios were optional on all 911s until the 80s. They were usually installed by the dealers, along with air conditioning and other accessories. The easiest way to make a radio blank is to find some matching tan vinyl and cover a piece of metal (maybe the piece they drilled into for the aftermarket radio if it will work) to fit over the hole. The few 911s I've seen from this era without radios just have the area covered in the same vinyl as the rest of the dash "band".
