RPMRacing in NYC- experience in early 911s?
I've heard alot of good things about RPM in Huntington, Long Island...for those who are more familiar with them or have even used them, do they work on older 911s? I have a 73.5 CIS that needs a few tweaks- I know each shop has their expertise- curious what their knowledge base is with respect to older Porsches...thanks for looking, thanks for the info...
BTW, If anyone knows of other shops that are within NY that they can recommend, fire away... |

I have only had experience with two shops in NYC. Both are experienced with all varieties of Porsches. Give them a call and discuss your problems and go with whoever makes you feel more comfortable.

I used these guys when I lived there and they were good. Sorry they split up. Taso is good wrench. Great attention to detail.

I use them. They are great guys, they know their stuff and are honest/trustworthy.
If your worried about early car knowledge one of their customers is a former NY Jet, 4 time pro- bowler who takes his 356 there. Also a co-worker with an early car uses them. Actually found this out on Tuesaday this week. If they can't help you they will tell you up front and save you the hassle.

Another great shop on long island is Rudtner's located in Freeport. Bill Rudtner works on my 993 cab and really knows his stuff. His shop has state of the art equipment and his prices are reasonable. I recommend you give him a call.

Thumbs up for Taso at TKX, huntington Station, LI. We swear by him, especially for track prep, and always recomend him. (no relation, just enthusiastic)

I agree with oceanblue (welcome to the board). This topic has come up before and it is agreed that all the shops mentioned are knowledgeable and do good honest work.
I can only speak from my experience. My cousin presentl y has his 356 into Rudtners and I have my '80 Sc in there now for track prep. Bill always has lots of early cars in for service. Just my .02¢

I have tried about 4 different Long Island shops and finally decided to use Rudtner's. He seems to work on every year and type of Porsche. I have seen 346's up to full blown track cars. Bill Rudtner also becomes a customers friend which is important to me. Give him a call 1-516-378-8769 I am sure you won't be disappointed.
