What gauge sheet metal?
I'm teaching myself to weld in order to patch up some areas on my '68 912, and am wondering if anyone knows what gauge sheet metal is best for making small patches to the underside of the car? I have some 18 gauge to practice on, and I'm sure it would work, but seems pretty thick and hard to shape.

Anyone have any ideas?
