Bay Area, thanks Tom Amon, Mobile Works West

Had a earlier post on ride height on my 1981 911. Mobile Works West did the entire suspension upgrade with E.R. products (great stuff) Tom battled a very rainy second day to finish up the project. I was impressed, he came prepared with a portable awning and tarps for the side to stay dry. When finished the height was a little high for me. He said give him a call and he would fit me in his schedule to lower it some. With in 24 hours after my call he came back out and re-indexed the rear torsion bars. Wow i'm impressed again. This guy knows how to keep a customer happy. This guy knows Porsches.

Typical. Tom is the best, wonderful to work with. Anyone in the bay area thinking of working with him won't be dissapointed. He even lets you watch if you want, it doesn't get any better.

Tom is the man! Knows his way around the 911 like nobody I've ever seen, and (bonus) he's a really nice guy.

Tom's phone number is 408 429 0545.

Not sure what his current rate is, but last year when he was setting up his mobile business the rate was $50/hr.

I highly recommend Tom to all bay area owners, try him once and you'll be a customer for life.

Matt

Thanks, I guess it was too obvious. I typed "mobile works west" in the Yahoo search engine and got nothing. Seacrh engines still have room for improvement, I guess.

I believe, as of Jan 1, his rates went up to $75/hour.

He got my turbo running after as many as maybe 16 years (theft recovery). I'd reccomend him.

Amon's rebuilt 2.7 in my 68 pictured below. Is it true that he is now $75/hr? What is he charging for travel these days? I was one of his first clients when he started MWW.

Damn,
At $50-$60 hr. Tom is a crankin deal. At $75 plus $50 for the travel call, I will probably go to a local specialist on a two hr job.
Of course from Tom's perspective, he has more work than he can currently service.
$crewed again by supply and demand.

Have a plan, schedule the work and discuss the cost with them.......
No shop in the bay area can beat them in overhead cost.

Bob, the photos you posted of your rebuild prompted me to use Tom. Here's a couple of photos of my rebuild.

Thanks Jimmy from MOBILE WORKS EAST

For Jimmy being his age he sure on the right path. Even though he lives in the Sacramento area, he does cover the Bay Area aswell. I got his card passing though Mill Valley. ( just north of SF.) You can also check a few pic of him in action on MobileWorksEast.com
We must keep these guys happy, cause i know they keep us that way.

Thanks Jimmy Deering for the major service and clutch job. Which FYI ran me just under $1500.00 Plus his $50 trip fee Shop quoted me approx $2600 Big diffrence right???
