Porsche Crest Pics before and after-removed rear bumper guards

Could not stand the look of the huge black bumper guards, and had to remove them...wanted a cleaner look...

Before and after photos

In my personal opinion I would keep the Original Design Intent from Porsche also it will protect the Rr. Bpr. from any attempt to bump your car from the Rr. and also protect your valuable center reflector also I do not know if you are violating some regulations as of the 5.0 mph Impact rr testing , that was the original purpose of those rubber bumpers.

Does anyone know if I am violating anything? I would image it is no different than upgrading to a 964 smooth rear bumper, or RUF yellow bird conversion, etc...feedback/opinions would be helpful if I am violating any laws

yep I did the same thing...but filled in the holes and lost the trim as well. I was amazed at how heavy them damn pads are.

no law violations, the bumper mounts still work as intended...just missing the added protection of the pads that would help prevent some cosmetic damage in a minor mishap.

lights for the plate are simple, use the lighted bolts on the plate or use some aftermarket ones.

I found them at a parts place on the emergency vehicle and truck lighting display board. These are used on large trucks I guess...cost about $15.

Like the bumperpadless look. The lights are in the bracket.

I did the same thing and just put black plastic plugs in the holes (car is black). I like it at first, but after about a year it just didn't look right so I put the bumper blocks back on. I much prefer the stock look now, having had my car both ways.

Maybe you got tired of looking at those plastic plugs? There is no "right or wrong" in which you choose. Simply preference. I can tell you for a fact that the design of the 911 was not intended to have those on. Impact bumper rules mandated them in the 70's. I guess it goes to how far back you first like 911's. I prefer the pre 74.

My version

I removed the bumperettes and left the impact strips on either side to go along with the one on the front bumper.

Okay, this is what happens to cars with Alabama tag frames that have the nerve to drive in Georgia
