More window questions... 87 911 coupe

I have been noticing a very slow window speed going up on the passenger side. Eventually died all the way down. I replaced the switches on both sides.
The drivers side never had a problem, I bought new switches and the passenger side cannot be controlled from the driver's side. I had a new motor for the passenger side and the motor goes in only down direction for the passenger's side, no other function form any other switch. The motor was tested outside and only runs in one direction , the new motor does the same thing....any suggestions.

Window felts may need to be replaced. I fought with the same problem (when wet). You can start by spraying silicone onto the felts and see if that helps but it is a temporary fix. Do a search.

Thank you joe! I did a huge search, but still cannot find why the motor tested outside works in one direction with the passenger switch, and in no direction with the drivers switch ( I replaced all switches!
Thanks in advance.

Do you have wires crossed? If not then I would start by first checking fuses and then the wiring it self. Check for shorts.

Hi Greg: I followed the wire diagram from Bentley...that correlates with the wires on the drivers side which works. I double checked all the switches for correct wiring sequence. All I have so far is:
1) Drivers switch works O.K, its passenger switch causes no function on the passenger side.
2) Passenger switch has function in one direction. The motor on the passenger side is new as well as all the switches. The fuse has been fine. Do anybody knows what are the signs of a bad relay ?
Thanks !

Just for grins, swap out two switches to make sure that one of them isn't bad. Also, double check your wiring. I've know folks who checked the wires 3 times before they realized that it was still wrong (not me of course ).

It seems to be trickier ...before I changed the motor I wrote a diagram, so it was wired the same. The frustration keep building. I appreciate all the help you guys . If there any other ideas, I,m all ears...LOL

If the passenger switch(s) works on the drivers side I will vote for wiring problems. Swap'em and let us know the results.

Thanks Greg, it only works lowering the window glass. It does not raise the window. From the driver's area I get no function, also swapped the switches, eventually put 2 new ones , no difference. The darn mistery continues...

Well, I would start checking the wires. You could jumper wires together and see if that will get the window up. If not then really check the wires. Any other thoughts?

Bingo Greg! I found on the left door the harness somehow doing a short circuit with the metal. Still the new motor was needed, the window goes up a lot faster.
Thank so much for helping !
