Brake Line Clip

I am replacing the flexible brake line and the hard brake line that is between the flexible brake line and the caliper. Both of these are on the front of the vehicle. I am having getting the clip out that is between the flexible brake line and the hard brake line on the side that is farther away from the caliper. Is there a trick to getting this out? I am grabbing it with needle nose pliers and pulling and it doesn't seem to work.

Any help about what I am doing wrong would be appreciated!

Thanks.

This is a Pic of an 88 carrera front right wheel. I had the same problem in that I wanted to remove the brake caliper but did not want to disturb the fluid line. However to remove the clip you need to loosen the hard line and that means fluid will leak out.....

The line on the left is the flexible line, then the welded mount. There is a clip that is holding the rigid line. If this is what you are referring then you need 2 wrenches one to hold the rigid side very stationary and then loosen the flex side. Once you loosen the nut then the clip will come loose. It appears the the clip is acting more like a spring washer to prevent the rigid nut from coming loose. The book recommends a flare end wrench when loosening and tightening these nuts. Hope this is what you are looking for.

Maybe I did a bad job of explaining...I am having a problem on the other end of the flex line...the one connected with the hard line that goes to the master cylinder.

I have the hard line disconnected from the flex line, but there is some clip I can't get out to completely remove the flex line.

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks.
