Body color or flat fokkin' black?

Should I paint the H4 headlight rings on the Viper Green Targa Body color or Flat black? I have seen it done both ways and can't decide. Hurry up and vote. I am painting today or tommorrow...

Good point. The car is an '83 SC so the trim is black.

You could actually do either with black trim. Sorry for being indecisive, its just too much pressure! Are they US or Euro H4s? Euros, Id do them flat black, US Id go with the body color.

I'd probably go with body color.

Why not paint one of each and see what you like better?

I'm leaning toward body color. Do you have a picture of the car? Are you respraying everything or just the trim rings?

I don't have a picture of the car in it's current color. I resprayed the car Viper Green. It's a 1983 Targa. I have a couple little odds and ends to finish up and can't decide on the trim rings. they are Euro H4's. I am leaning towards the flat black. I have seen a couple cars done that way and thought they looked pretty cool.

Do what looks best to you. You can probably get other of VG cars from other threads w/ body colored rings. You can approximate the black look w/ some electrical tape on the unpainted ring set in place temporalily on the car.

I know Kevin is getting bored with his black trim rings, just as a point you may as well find it getting old. I would go body color myself.

I have formulated a plan with your guys help. i am painting them flat black and setting them on the car to see what I think. It will be easier to change them to from flat black spray bomb to VG two stage paint than the other way around.

Just my opinion, but the "raccoon eyes" look AWFUL. It looks unfinished. Whenever I see the black headlight rings I think, "Well, he's got them primered, I wonder if he'll ever get around to painting them?"

Did the factory EVER do it that way?

Why would you want to paint the rings black and make them stand out? Go with the body color.....

Make fun of you? Uh no. You've misunderstood what is truly my enthusiasm for the floral trim.

I can hear your old car in the distance at this very moment. Brian's done a lot of work on it over the winter and we'll see it take to the track 5/1 at autobahn in Joliet.
