clutch roll pin installation tips
I've searched all the pedal cluster rebuild threads I could find. Most people have trouble removing the roll pin. I'm having trouble installing it.
Any tips or tricks? TIA |

I used a punch and hammer to remove the old pin. To replace I got it started by tapping in with the hammer and then put the assembly in a vise and slowly pressed it in place, worked great and have had no problems.

I replaced mine while the pedals were mounted in the car, here what i did.
I made a pin holder out of a peice of aluminum stock (just any old rod or bar will do) I drilled a hole in the end big enough for the pin to fit. Placed the new pin in the hole in the end of the aluminum stock and used it as a punch to drive in the pin. does not make it any easier to reach the pedal assembly but it makes it easier to drive in the pin Hope this helps................KC ![]()

I've been trying to get it in with a vice It seems to be about 1/4 to 1/3rd the way in but the pin is starting to bend sideways. :-(

Whew, I made it! A gnarly nub is still sticking out maybe 3/16" on the top but it made it all the way through to the other side so I'm quitting while I'm ahead.

Glad you got it in. If you had the padal ass'y on the bench, you could have heated the pedal arm at the base where the pn goes in.
